About the Event
The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) will be hosting the annual conference of the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres (AAPPAC) from September 20 to 22, 2019.
Founded in 1996 with an end-goal of establishing the Asia Pacific region as a leader in the performing arts industry, AAPPAC has a network of 73 members from over 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific region comprised of prominent and internationally reputable performing arts centres, art venues and culture and arts organizations. This event will provide CCP (as a Full Member and among the founding members of the AAPPAC), and the country more mileage and opportunity to showcase Filipino arts and culture, as an events destination, to the vast and diverse AAPPAC constituency and clientele. This landmark occasion shall also coincide with the CCP’s milestone 50 th anniversary celebrations.
With the conference theme, “Epicenters of Creativity: Generating Waves, Harnessing Crosscurrents”, the 3-day conference expects to gather around 80-100 foreign delegates and 50 local counterparts. Part of the conference design and thematics include KEYNOTE & SESSION TOPICS such as “Cultural Diplomacy”, “Arts Philanthropy”, “Smart Venues: Technology and the Performing Arts”, “The Academe and the Performing Arts Centres: Partners in Enriching the Performing Arts Industry”, “The Rise of Small, Independent Performing Arts Spaces”, among other engaging and timely topics.
AAPPAC 2019 is one of the three (3) flagship events of the Manila International Performing Arts Summit (MIPAS) which is being organized by the CCP. It coincides with two (2) other major events, the Federation for Asian Cultural Promotion (FACP) Conference and the Manila International Performing Arts Market (MIPAM).
