A month since Netflix gave us the first-look images of Space Sweepers, they have finally unveiled the first teaser to the upcoming Korean sci-fi film! The film, which stars Song Joong Ki, Kim Tae Ri, Jin Sun Kyu, and Yoo Hai Jin, launches globally on Netflix this February 5.

The teaser gives us a look at the spaceship’s crew, as well as their plans of exchanging the human-like robot they found from piles of space debris. It also briefly hints of all the space action in the drama, as well as the oozing tension between the characters who do not really harmonize with each other.
Space Sweepers is a film set in 2092, when spaceship Victor is one of the many that live off salvaging space debris. Manning the spaceship is the genius pilot Tae Ho (Song Joong Ki), an ex-space pirate Captain Jang (Kim Tae Ri), a spaceship engineer Tiger Park (JIn Sun Kyu), and a reprogrammed military robot Bubs (Yoo Hai Jin).
After they manage to snatch a crashed space shuttle, the crew discovers a 7-year-old girl inside, who turns out to be the humanlike robot wanted by the space guards. Victory’s crew then decides to demand a ransom in exchange for the girl.
Space Sweepers comes from Jo Sung Hee, the same person behind A Werewolf Boy and Phantom Detective. The film launches on Netflix this February 5.
