K-Drama fans, there's a new show to look forward to during the weekends, as Arthdal Chronicles is finally streaming on Netflix!
Arthdal Chronicles centers on the heroes of the ancient land of Arth, as they try to rise to their struggles and create their own legends. The cast is led by Song Joong Ki as Eunseom, an innocent-looking one who fights a giant civilization to protect the people he loves, and Jang Dong Gun as Tagon, the leader of the Daekan Forces and son of the leader of the Saenyeok Tribe.
Joining them are Kim Ji Won, who plays Tanya, the successor to the clan mother of the Wahan Tribe, and Kim Ok Vin as Taealha, daughter of the leader of the Hae Tribe. These four characters then get entangled with each other in a story of love and their struggles for power.
In a press junket held in Seoul, South Korea last week, we got a chance to have an exclusive interview with the lead cast of the show, where they talk about their preparations for it, and which other characters from the show they want to play. Check it out below:
Arthdal Chronicles tells the story of a world set in a time before human history began, a first in a Korean drama. According to the writers, the word "Arthdal" is a combination of the word "Asadal" – the capital of the Korean mythological city of Gojoseon (which means "Older Joseon") and "Earth". They also added that the drama will be taking its audience back to a time where concepts like love, dreams, kings, and nations did not exist, and will also be exploring more on the theme of "acceptance of diversity and embracing of the otherness".
The drama will be divided into three parts, each of which is said to go deeper into different story arcs. The first two parts will be airing first, while the third is set to air in the latter part of the year.
