Marvel Delays ‘Black Widow’ and Other Phase 4 Films

MCU's Phase 4 will be taking longer to unfold.

Last year’s San Diego Comic-Con was a blast for MCU fans as Marvel laid out its initial plans for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But just like any other plans made for this year, setbacks were inevitable.

According to Variety, Disney will now be releasing Black Widow on May 7, 2021. The film was supposed to screen in theaters last May, but because of the pandemic, it was moved to November. That is until this new release date was announced.

Marvel’s Eternals also received a second reschedule for its release. The film is now set to premiere November 5 next year. Another Marvel Phase 4 film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, had its release date moved to July 9, 2021.

Other upcoming films on MCU’s Phase 4 lineup are Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder. New release dates have not been announced for the films but we can expect it will be moved even further from its respective release dates of May 7 and November 5 next year.

A few days back, MCU show WandaVision also released its official trailer. It seems that the current situation won’t be stopping the show from being released on Disney+ later this year.
