Michael Keaton reprises role as Batman

Michael Keaton Reportedly Returning as Batman in DCEU’s ‘The Flash’ Movie

Tim Burton's Batman returns!

Michael Keaton, who played the titular role in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman movie and its sequel Batman Returns, is reportedly reprising his role in the upcoming Ezra Miller starrer film, The Flash.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal may even land Keaton appearances in multiple DC-oriented film projects. The veteran actor is said to be envisioned as a mentor or guiding figure in these films, similar to Marvel’s Nick Fury. Warner Bros., who holds the rights to the DC films, are yet to comment on the report.

Keaton appearing as the Caped Crusader in the DCEU which already had its Batman, is not that surprising. The Wrap reports that The Flash, like its comic and TV counterparts, will also delve into the idea of a multiverse. This explains well why we might see a different Bruce Wayne.

Ezra Miller first starred as the Flash, Barry Allen, in the Justice League film back in 2017. He also made a cameo appearance in the DC TV universe during the Crisis On Infinite Earths.

Next year, we’ll see Miller back in his red mask, when HBO Max releases the Justice League Snyder Cut.
