About the Event

There is no Christmas like an Araneta Center Christmas.

From the bright lights that adorn its streets during this time of the year to the grand events which are anticipated by a multitude of people, Araneta Center continues to spread cheer while honoring well-loved Christmas traditions.

Giant Christmas Tree Lightning

For the millions that visit the bustling commercial district, Christmas is truly home in Araneta Center.

Iconic giant Christmas tree

A centerpiece in the celebration of the Yuletide season in Araneta Center is the giant Christmas tree. One of the most iconic Christmas trees in the land, the 100-foot tree continues to draw countless visitors during this season, thanks to its magnificent ornaments and the palpable Yuletide spirit it evokes.

Since 1981, the lighting of the giant Christmas tree has been one of the most anticipated Christmas events in Metro Manila. This year, the 37-year-old tradition will take place on November 16 at the Times Square Food Park.

The festive celebration will be attended by some of the country’s brightest stars including Vice Ganda, Darren Espanto, Hashtag McCoy de Leon, TNT Boys, Janine Berdin, Vivoree Esclito, Hashtag CK Kieron, and The Kids’ Choice” jurors Xia Vigor, Chunsa Jung, Onyok Pineda, Carlo Mendoza and Jayden Villegas. The show will be hosted by sports personality-turned-news anchor Gretchen Ho, theater actor Benj Manalo and stand-up comedian MC.

The Christmas tree, which features 3,000 LED bulbs and an assortment of decorations such as giant balls and bells and lighted poinsettias, has expanded its appeal from Araneta Center’s most loyal visitors to the Instagram generation.

A homecoming

Also set to wow the public from all age groups is the Christmas on Display, which will make its long-awaited return to Araneta Center on November 23, a homecoming which will be marked by a grand celebration.

The beloved Christmas on Display, which was started by the C.O.D. Department Store in 1957, is finally back in the country’s premier lifestyle and leisure hub after 16 years. The display’s moving mannequins and compelling storyline will surely capture a new generation of fans when it opens also at the Times Square Food Park.

The Christmas on Display will have shows from 6 pm to 10:30 pm on Sundays to Thursdays and from 6 pm to 11:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Aside from the giant Christmas tree and the Christmas on Display, the Times Square Food Park also hosts a plethora of food stalls and fun rides, making it one of the must-visit destinations this Holiday season.

Exhilarating entertainment

While upholding traditions is very important for Araneta Center, it is also committed to delivering something new and electrifying this Christmas season. Set to do just that is the exhilarating “Magic on Ice” show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, which will run from December 25, Christmas Day, until January 1.

Magic On Ice has thrilled audiences all over the world with its mind-boggling tricks and performances from expert illusionists and an unparalleled set design. This presentation will serve as a perfect bonding time for families and friends who want to witness something new this season.
