The BeeGees come alive once more as Bee Gees Gold Tribute Featuring John Acosta invades Manila on November 7, 2018 Wednesday 8 in the evening at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila.
Lead Singer JOHN ACOSTA as Barry Gibb headlines one of the world’s best tribute bands that has performed all over the world. His portrayal of lead singer Barry Gibb is filled with a lot of zest for details like no other tribute band has. From the look to the falsetto you will close your eyes and say it’s Barry Gibb!! John Acosta’s Bee Gees Gold Tribute is the ultimate salute to one of the world’s most beloved band and watching Acosta’s Tribute Band is just like seeing the Bee Gees perform in their prime. And why not, with the detailed vocal stylings of John Acosta (Barry Gibb), Daryll Borges (Robin Gibb) and Jeff Celentano (Maurice Gibb), it will really knock the socks off any music sceptic.
Backed by a live band, The Vegas Bee Gees Tribute recreates the look and sound of the Bee Gees from the 60's to the late 70's, with their unique falsettos that made them legends. Performing their early hits like Massachusetts, I Started A Joke, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart and their first ever US and UK charting hit New York Mining Disaster to their latter Disco classics like Stayin’ Alive , You Should Be Dancing, Night Fever, More Than A Woman and so much more.
John Acosta’s first encounter with the music of the BeeGees happened while he was growing up in Uruguay. He caught the “Fever” when at age 10 he saw Saturday Night Fever for the first time. Since then John has pursued a music career either as a solo artist or as part of a band. As a performer John has always included BeeGees songs in his repertoire. The BeeGees were a huge hit in South America and John would have his ear glued to a radio show that played 60’s BeeGees songs every night. Moving to Canada where he continued to pursue his music career for eight years, John and his family eventually moved to Las Vegas to find better opportunities.
In Vegas John started out as a member of a Latin Trio. John also included BeeGees songs in the trio’s repertoire but with a touch of Latin rhythms. Soon enough John decided to form a band where he met Daryll Borges who was his band’s substitute drummer. John was quite impressed with Daryll’s drumming and singing. But it was Daryll’s resemblance to Robin Gibb that encouraged John to eventually form a BeeGees tribute band. Jeff Celentano, who was from another band, later followed thus completing the first line up The BeeGees Gold Tribute Band.
The band’s first worldwide exposure happened when John put a Live Promo video of his band online and within days Agents started calling him and wanting to book them. Other agents wanted to book them in a TV Show called AXS TV – THE WORLD’S GREATEST TRIBUTE BAND. The band passed AXS TV’s rigorous screening process and were able to perform. Their performance was enthusiastically received by viewers and even fans of the BeeGees. Their TV performance opened a lot of doors and allowed them the opportunity to perform all over the world. And the rest as they say is history.
