About the Event
After the earth sleeps at winter time, spring bursts forth with the bright sunshine and the freshness of blooms all around. So it is with our soul which needs refreshment every so often.
We have all we need to create something beautiful everyday. Even the muddy places in our hearts can be rich soil for God to plant lush flowers in! Grab some soul food by surrounding yourself with all the colors of spring and express yourself through art!
Let this workshop help you discover some easy techniques that will turn ordinary materials like scrap cloth, paper, buttons and beads into cherished art pieces. The mixed media method will help you create vibrant textured images of nature.
The Beauty for Ashes Workshop facilitator will be Papemelroti owner and artist Patricia "Patsy" Alejandro Paterno.
Patsy has been in the arts and crafts business since she was in her teens. Trained as an interior designer, she has been behind most of Papemelroti's product lines and the shop's development since it's inception.
When she isn't busy managing the family chain of gift shops, she can often be found painting at their home's pocket garden.
