About the Event

Ateneo ENTABLADO is slated to bring to life “Ang Pitong Gunggong,” a bodabil-esque musical comedy that showcases the struggle of seven dimwits based on a children’s storybook. The play, written by Christine Bellen and Tyron Casumpang, directed by Jethro Niño Tenorio, is set to run from February 27 to March 17 at the Rizal Mini Theater, Ateneo de Manila University.

Ang Pitong Gunggong

Ang Pitong Gunggong” is a roller coaster ride of adventure that will show viewers how seven young dimwits from different origins gather together in search of enlightenment in a barrio called Santa Iluminada. Along the way, they will encounter Papa D and his six henchmen who will ingeniously take advantage of the dimwits’ flaws and limits to the former’s benefit.

More than the grand musical numbers and feats of humor, the play will offer a satirical presentation of how power is being used at the expense of the weak and marginalized, in a society that is all too susceptible to the rule of one.

The organization invites every one to catch the shows scheduled on February 27-28, March 1-2, 6-10,13-17 at 7 PM; March 3 at 1 PM and 4:30 PM; and March 10 and 17 at 2 PM.
