Featuring a diverse array of socially relevant topics that impact Filipino society today, TEDxUERM aims to bring together bright minds to foster passion, inspiration, and wonder — provoking conversations that matter among medical students, professionals, and the Philippine community at large. With the theme “HITCH”, TEDxUERM 2017 challenges everyone to find wonder in the series of surprises and setbacks we may encounter along our way. The next time the road of life presents an unexpected speed bump, take a detour and enjoy the view. About TED and TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has launched a program that provides individuals the initiative to create and host their own TED-like event.
This local, self-organized gathering is branded TEDx — the “x” standing for independently organized — with the goal of bringing together like-minded people with diverse backgrounds and interests to share in a TED-like experience within their own community.
A TEDx event combines previously recorded TED Talks from TED conferences around the world, together with live TED-like talks from a selection of dynamic speakers, eager to share innovative ideas and catalyze illuminating discourse and connection within a small group.
The globally recognized TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized, independently coordinated, and curated with the local community in mind.
