Artinformal is very pleased to present Within, a solo exhibition by artist Daniel dela Cruz, opening on June 8, 6PM, at the gallery’s space: 227 Connecticut St., Greenhills East, Mandaluyong.
In this exhibition, Dela Cruz presents new sculptural works and video-sculpture installations as he seeks to answer such seemingly banal questions as: How do we really know if we are dreaming or not? What dreams can we remember?
He transforms the gallery and takes us to the dream world itself to examine how certain fragments from this illusory world tread light and darkness in order to move from a state of indistinctness to a state of clarity.
Within presents us with a variety of found objects, as well as sculptured bodies for which Dela Cruz is known for, and encases them in clear transparent resin to show how in dreams, shapes and figures are sometimes locked up in a state of becoming.
Dela Cruz has done numerous solo exhibitions since 2007. His most recent show, Existence is Elsewhere, happened in December 2016.
