About the Event

Ignacio de Loyola, an epic about how soldier Iñigo de Loyola journeyed from being a sinner to founding the Society of Jesus, is set to make history as the locally-produced English-language film holds a premiere screening with full live orchestra scoring at Solaire on July 23.

Ignacio de Loyola is produced by Jesuit Communications (JesCom), a foundation engaged in the production of audiovisual materials for evangelization and education. The movie is directed by young Filipino filmmaker Paolo Dy and stars Spanish actor Andreas Muñoz in the title role. Shot on location in Spain, the film utilizes the latest in filming, CGI, and sound-mixing. The movie takes an incisive and thrilling look into the life of St. Ignatius before his conversion, how being injured during the Battle of Pamplona and giving up his promising military career led him to pursue a religious life.

The Ignacio de Loyola premiere dubbed “Ignacio de Loyola: One Night Only” will be held on July 23, Saturday, 4pm, at Solaire. The event features a full orchestra scoring. Film and music lovers are in for a one-of-a-kind experience as they watch the film and listen to the live scoring composed by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, as brought to life by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ateneo Chamber singers. Maestro Gerard Salonga conducts for the special premiere.

The premiere screening at Solaire includes a benefit dinner for the Jesuit Infirmary and the Jesuit Scholastic in the Philippines.

For tickets and inquiries, contact Cathy Cardoz or Cynthia Estrella at tel.426-5971 to 72 locals 111 or 113.
