ICYMI: ‘Kingdom: Ashin of the North’, the Side Episode to ‘Kingdom’ is Coming To Netflix Soon

The side episode on Ashin arrives on Netflix in 2021!

Missing the world of Kingdom? Netflix has confirmed that an upcoming side episode to the Korean zombie drama is coming in 2021! Kingdom: Ashin of the North will focus on the mysterious character (played by Jun Ji Hyun) who showed up at the end of Season 2.

Check out the teaser below:

The special episode tells the backstory of the mysterious character named Ashin who Lee Chang and his group encountered when trying to discover the origin of the plague. The episode will explain what happened to Ashin in the past in the northern region, and how she met the head of the Royal Commandery Min Chi Rok. It will also uncover the origin of the resurrection plant and the secrets behind the infected.

Jun Ji Hyun (also known as Gianna Jun) will be reprising her role as Ashin in this bonus story. She stars alongside Park Byung Eun, who will play Min Chi Rok.

Kim Seung Hun, who directed Kingdom season 1, will be directing the special episode, with a screenplay by writer Kim Eun Hee.
