Historical K-Drama Meets Zombie Apocalypse on Netflix Original ‘Kingdom’

The dead will rise in this gripping K-drama thriller!

Netflix brings the zombie invasion to historical Korean Drama!

An original production of the streaming service, Kingdom is set during the medieval Joseon period and tells the story of a kingdom that had fallen to corruption and famine.

Alienated from power, crown prince Lee Chang (Ju Ji-Hoon) will have to find out the truth behind rumors of his father's death as well as the mysterious disease that is plaguing the country.

But as soon as he finds himself caught between a web of conspiracy, the crown prince would realize that he is not only to face hordes of the undead that hunger for human flesh, but also men who hunger and greed for power over the kingdom.

Lee then must set out to unveil the evil revolving around the land in order to save his people and restore peace.

Kingdom is directed by Kim Seong-hun, from the screenplay of Kim-Eun-hee, who was also the writer of the webcomic Land of the Gods from which the Korean drama was based. It stars Ju Ji-Hoon (Along with the Gods), Bae Doona (Stranger), and Ryu Seung-ryong (Miracle in Cell No. 7).
