Rabiya Mateo for Miss Universe
Miss Philippines Rabiya Mateo will be competing for the Miss Universe crown this May 16 (May 17, 8AM, PH time). Those who’d want to watch the pageant can do so by streaming on iQIYI on pageant day. The streaming platform will also be introducing a library of exclusive Miss U content, including pageant highlights, backstage and offstage scenes, as well as glam cams.
Those who’d like to show their support to Mateo can do so by using the Fan Vote function, which is available exclusively on Lazada. Fans are entitled to one free vote, but can also buy voting packages, priced from P48 to P4869, which vary depending on the number of votes you’d like to cast.

Elon Musk on Saturday Night Live
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk appeared as the host of Saturday Night Live in its latest episode. His appearance on the show trended on social media, with people wondering whether Musk was even worthy of hosting the show. Aside from saying that he’s the first person with Asperger’s Syndrome to host SNL, he also brought his mom to the show, who joked about hoping Musk wouldn’t be giving her Dogecoin.
Netflix’s Persuasion
Netflix will be adapting Jane Austen’s 1817 novel Persuasion into film! Leading the cast of this film is Dakota Johnson, who’ll be playing Anne Elliott. She stars in the film alongside Crazy Rich Asians‘ Henry Golding, who’ll be taking on the role of Mr. Elliott, Anne’s cousin. Carrie Cracknell, who also directed Sea Wall/ A Life on Broadway will be directing the film.
Persuasion is about Anne Elliott — an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities. When the dashing Frederick Wentworth reenters her lie, Anne finds herself choosing between putting the past behind her and listening to heart by giving him a second chance.
Lily James and Sebastian Stan for Pam & Tommy
Lily James is joining Sebastian Stan in the upcoming Hulu series Pam & Tommy. Here, the actress will be playing Pamela Anderson, while Stan will be playing her ex-husband Tommy Lea. The series will tackle the couple’s marriage from 1995 to 1998, their romance, and the story behind the release of their sex tape.
The series is developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie will be directing it, with a script from Rob Siegel.
The Broken Marriage Vow
ABS-CBN has finally revealed the cast of The Broken Marriage Vow — the official PH adaptation of the British series Doctor Foster and Korea’s The World of he Married. Jodi Sta. Maria will be playing Dr. Jill Illustre, a doctor and wife to Zanjoe Marudo’s David Ilustre. Sue Ramirez will be playing Lexy Lucero, while Zaijan Jaranilla plays Jill and David’s son, Gio.
The OG British series is about Gemma foster, a doctor whose life changes after she starts suspecting his husband of having an affair. The Broken Marriage Vow will be directed by Connie Macatuno.
