Miss Universe Philippines recently revealed online the 2020 Miss Universe Philippines Crown, simply called ‘Filipina.’ In their official Facebook page, they first shared a dramatic teaser trailer of the dazzling crown, to the delight of many Miss U fans.
“The crown represents the achievement of oneās mind over body as a Filipina. It will be a symbol of triumph over oneās journey of trials, hard work and perseverance in obtaining oneās dream,” Miss Universe Philippines shared in their post. The elements of the Filipina crown are meant to reflect the meaning of being a woman. The leaves details are compared to the lives of women seeking success while being rooted in Filipino values, while the diamonds embedded in the leaf symbolize the sparkling smiles of people that she encounters. Sapphire, Ruby, and Topaz represent the Philippine flag and the yellow pearl details represent “creativity, intelligence, optimism and fear of God – characteristics that make every Filipina a gem in her family.”
The Filipina crown is created in Meycauayan, Bulacan by the Villarica Family who own the Villarica Pawnshop chain in the country. Miss Universe Philippines page also expresses their major contribution to women empowerment, as the company is founded by an empowered Filipina and maintains an all-female staff.

The Filipina candidates will strut down the stage in their swimsuit and evening gown during theĀ preliminary night this Friday, October 23. It will be followed by the theĀ crowningĀ of the countryās next representative to the Miss Universe 2020 on Sunday, October 25.
