‘Tricks and Musical Treats: A PPO Family Concert’ Returns at the CCP

After two online editions in 2020 and 2021, the PPO Family Concert continues its tradition to introduce orchestral instruments and develop appreciation for classical music among children in a fun, and creative way.

The CCPā€™s most-loved Halloween event, Tricks and Musical Treats: A PPO Family Concert, returns on October 30, 2022, 4pm, at the TanghalangNicanorAbelardo (CCP Main Theater).

Dubbed as ā€œA Tuneful Fiesta at Filharmonia,ā€ this yearā€™s family concert features 10-year-old pianist Ella Gabrielle Gaw and 7-year-old marimba player Gioia Francesco M. De la Cruz, who will perform with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro HerminigildoRanera. The show will be hosted by theater actress-director LieslBatucan-del Rosario.

After two online editions in 2020 and 2021, the PPO Family Concert continues its tradition to introduce orchestral instruments and develop appreciation for classical music among children in a fun, and creative way.

Pre-concert event includes an instrument petting zoo, where children can touch and play selected music instruments of the orchestra slated at 2pm. It aims to highlight how enjoyable and wonderful it is to play a musical instrument at a young age.

Taking the Filipino-based theme, the show hopes to incorporate cultural values on kalinga (nurturing), kultura (culture), and kalikasan (nature).
