The transition from the slow, ominous horror to a bloody slasher is unexpected. The plot twist is interesting, but the resolution felt cheap. Still, it's quite unique.
The first half of this film is quite formulaic and slow. However, the second half is absolutely insane. Horror fans might be disappointed, since I'd classify this more as an action horror than a psychological horror, and the camp is through the roof, ala Sam Raimi's Evil Dead trilogy, but I had fun.
