A soldier heads home on leave and becomes friends with a young girl. She helps him deal with his issues with his father, and their friendship blossoms into romance. But with the world changing around them, the soldier decides that his duty to his country must come first, and the two are forced to continue their love story apart, with war threatening to provide a tragic ending.
