From 2020’s release of Onward and Soul, Disney and Pixar is now giving us something new this 2021. In theaters this year is a coming-of-age animation directed by Enrico Casarosa, director of Pixar’s 2011 Oscar®-nominated short “La Luna.”

Luca is set in the Italian Riviera in a seaside town. It follows the story of a young boy’s adventures with his newfound best friend. The waters hold a secret that may threaten their summer: they are actually sea monsters from another world!

Luca features a voice cast that includes Jacob Tremblay (“Room,” “Wonder”) as 13-year old Luca, the titular character. It also has Jack Dylan Grazer (“We Are Who We Are,” “Shazam”), Emma Berman, Maya Rudolph (“Bridesmaids”), Marco Barricelli, and Jim Gaffigan (“The Pale Tourist,” “Troop Zero”).
