Cinephiles, here’s an online event you wouldn’t want to miss! Twenty-one film festivals have come together to curate films and programs for We Are One: A Global Film Festival! The event, which runs from May 29 to June 7, will stream for free on YouTube.
The 10-day online festival is born out of the desire to bring the film community together in the time of the pandemic. Through this, people can not only enjoy films from all over the world but also help raise funds to support COVID-19 efforts.
For this festival, Cannes, Berlin, Tokyo, Tribeca, and Venice are just some of the film festivals that have participated in curating high-quality films celebrating the art of storytelling. Representing over 35 countries, it will feature 23 narrative and 8 documentary features, 57 narrative and 15 documentary shorts, 5 VR programming pieces, and 15 archived talks. The event will also include 13 world premieres, 31 online premieres, and 5 international online festivals. The full line-up, as well as the premiere schedules for these films, can be accessed here.
Here are some of the films streaming on the festival:
- Beautiful Things by Giorgio Ferrero
- Happy, Mary Is Happy by Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit
- Eeb Allay Ooo! by Anurag Kashyap
- Ice Cream And The Sound Of Raindrops by Daigo Matsui
- The Epic Of Everest by John Noel
- Grab by Billy Luther
- Traveling While Black and Alteration by Roger Ross Wiliams
- Lonely Encounter by Jenny Wan
Aside from the films, the event will also be streaming talks and discussions from past festivals. Francis Ford Coppola, Jackie Chan, Guillermo del Toro, and Bong Joon Ho are just some of the personalities to be featured in the festival.
