The cinematic universe has a new top dog! “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” the sequel about everyone’s favorite mighty pups, strutted its way to the top of the U.S. box office over the past weekend. With a fetching $23 million just in the States and a whopping worldwide collection of $46.1 million, this family film is set to mark its territory far and wide. Notably, these impressive figures emerge with the movie’s availability in just 53% of the global market. Get ready, Philippines – the paw-tastic adventure unravels on October 11.
Helmed by the brilliant director Cal Brunker, the film has garnered waves of positive reception with moviegoers – mostly families with young children – who gave the film an A cinemascore. In fact, it’s left such a mark that it’s earned an admirable 82% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Leading entertainment platform Variety said that PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie “delivers on the promise of a smart and salient sequel with bolder action, bigger stakes, and deeper resonance for all ages.”
Meanwhile, Screenrant echoed similar sentiments, “Its lessons are bare bones but relatable, with the kiddos easily able to take everything in without being overwhelmed, especially if they’re already familiar with the characters.”
