About the Event

The PPO, with Maestro Herminigildo Ranera conducting, introduces the rudiments of classical music to young audiences, with an entertaining lecture-demo format. With the help of a narrator, young audiences are taught classical music appreciation and introduced to the different instruments of the orchestra in a fun and enjoyable way as the country’s leading orchestra performs timeless pieces that are well-loved by young audiences including light classics, film music, pops and popular show tunes arranged for the symphony orchestra.

PPO Concert For The Youth

For hands-on fun, audiences are invited to try various orchestral instruments at the Instrument Petting Zoo before the concert. The Instrument Petting Zoo is the musical playground that gives young audiences the opportunity to see, hear, touch, and play different kinds of musical instruments like the violin, cello, flute, and trumpet.  Audiences, especially children, have the chance to get up close and personal with the orchestral instruments they see on stage being played by professional musicians! It's a fun and educational activity that teaches them how the instruments’ vibrations become sound, and sound becomes music.
