Altro Mondo Arte Cotemporanea is pleased to present SCENARIOS, a solo exhibition by Benjie Cabangis at Altro Mondo, Greenbelt 5 (3rd Level, Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati).
Benjie Cabangis presents his most recent works with his geometric style of imagery and recognized technique. Cabangis has consistently been displaying to the public with his trademark abstraction, constructing figures, a palette, and even an atmosphere that is exclusively his own.
Benjie Isla Cabangis (b. 22 February 1957, Manila, Philippines) is one of the country’s respected abstractionists with twenty-five solo exhibitions and numerous local and international group exhibitions. He is currently a full professor at the UP College of Fine Arts where he also graduated with a BFA in Painting in 1978. He chaired the UPCFA Studio Arts Department for three consecutive terms. Cabangis received the Cultural Center of the Philippines Thirteen Artists Award in 1978, the Gawad Chanselor as UP’s Outstanding Visual Artist in 1999 and more recently the UP Arts Productivity Award. Cabangis works are represented in various public, private and corporate collections in the country and abroad.
