In an effort to bring out creativity and to support local artists despite the pandemic situation, Robinsons Land ARTablado has extended the submission of entries to June 15 for its first national painting competition. Launched January 2020, the theme of the competition is “Create” which is defined as “bring something to existence.”
The competition serves as the first step in the property developer’s campaign to illustrate the beauty of the Philippines, showcase the future of arts, share Filipino culture and festivities, and create awareness and open the eyes of Filipinos on environmental changes.
This art competition is open to all Filipino aged 18 years old and above. “Create” has two categories: representational and non-representational, and is limited to works using acrylic or oil on canvas. Since it is a painting competition, mixed media is not allowed. Art subject should be non-political, non-sectarian, and non-violent.
Participants may submit only one entry per category, but there’s no restriction in submitting work for both sections. Minimum size requirement is 2 feet by 3 feet and maximum measurement of 4 feet by 4 feet (excluding the frame). The contestant’s name must not appear on the painting, but a card tag should be placed at back of the artwork. This should contain name, birthday, age, contact number, title of the artwork, a brief information about the piece (five to ten sentences), and year it was created. When submitting the artwork, a completely filled out official entry form and a signed copy of the waivers, which can both be downloaded through Robinsons Land Corporation website and Artablado Facebook page. Entries can either be hand-delivered or shipped to Corporate PR Department, Robinsons Land Corporation, 12th floor Robinsons Cyberscape Alpha, Garnet and Sapphire Roads, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
Winners for both categories get P60,000.00 in cash, a solo exhibition at Robinsons Galleria, an overnight stay at Summit Ridge Tagaytay, and a plaque. Second prize winners get P40,000.00 in cash, an overnight stay at Summit Chimes in Greenhills, and a plaque. Third prize winners get P20,000.00 in cash, an overnight stay at Summit Magnolia in Quezon City, and a plaque. Up to 22 finalists will be selected for both categories, each of whom will be handed P4,000.00 in cash. All winning entries will also be part of the 2020 ARTablado traveling exhibition.
