About the Event
As part of the Strings and Chamber Music Department Concert Series, the guitar faculty will present an evening of guitar duet masterpieces in a concert titled “UP Faculty Guitar Duo on Thursday, April 21, 2016, Abelardo Hall Auditorium, UP College of Music, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
In the concert are the two guitar teachers of the College, Lester Demetillo and Nathan Manimtim, and will be assisted by piano faculty Geraldine Gonzales. They will interpret 20th and 21st centuries original works written for 2 guitars by Pujol (Tres Piezas de Otoño for 2 guitars), Castelnuovo-Tedesco (Concerto for 2 Guitars and Orchestra, Op. 201), and Lacertosa and Ficco (Summer Suite for 2 guitars).
Lester Demetillo is an icon in the art of classical guitar playing in the country, while Nathan Manimtim is one of the young guitar teachers of the College.
Admission ticket to the April 21 concert is Php 300. Students with valid IDs are entitled to 50 percent discount and senior citizens, 20%.
