About the Event
The University of the Philippines Geology Majors’ Society (UP GeMS), in partnership with UP SAPUL, UP SAMASKOM, and UP Le Club Français, will celebrate its 41st anniversary this coming February.
With the theme, “Apex 2016: Reaching Greater Heights at 41,” UP GeMS will host its annual GeMS Week at the National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS), UP Diliman from February 15 to February 20, 2016.
GeMS Week is a week-long celebration of UP GeMS’ establishment last February 19, 1975. The line up of events will be as follows:
February 15, 2016: Committee Wars - An internal event of UP GeMS for its members to develop camaraderie.
February 15, 2016: Exhibit Launch - An exhibit prepared by the organization to showcase the history and achievements of UP GeMS throughout the years.
February 16, 2016: Envitalks - A series of talks where speakers will share thoughts and opinions regarding the current status of the Philippine environment.
February 17, 2016: Starve Wars Episode IV - The highly anticipated annual eating competition for high school and college students.
February 19, 2016: ConverGeMS - An anniversary dinner organised to promote harmonious relationships among the resident and alumni members.
February 20, 2016: Outreach Program - A charity event of the organization for a specific beneficiary.
