‘League of Legends’ Animated Series ‘Arcane’ Premieres on Netflix This Fall

The upcoming animated series is a collaboration between Netflix and Riot Games.

Love League of Legends? Well then, Netflix has got some great news for you all! The streaming site announced that it will team up with Riot Games in bringing the world of League of Legends to television with Arcane. The animated series event will be premiering globally on Netflix this Fall.

According to Netflix, Arcane takes place in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun. “The story follows the origins of two iconic League champions — and the power that will tear them apart.”

Shauna Spenley, the Global President of Entertainment at Riot Games said that the upcoming series is a “love letter to their players and fans”. With this new project, they can give them more cinematic experiences that delve deeper into the worlds and champions of League of Legends.

Meanwhile, Dominique Bazay, Director of Original Animation for Netflix said: “League of Legends has inspired global fervor and fandom and we’re thrilled to be the home of the first television series set in this universe, Arcane. The series promises to be a visually spectacular thrill ride that will have viewers on the edge of their seats.”

League of Legends or LoL is a multiplayer online battle arena video game first released back in 2009. In the game, two teams with five players battle in combat. Each player has unique abilities and playstyles, and they get powerful by collecting items that help defeat the other team.
