8 New Shows and Films To Watch Out For On Netflix This June

Here are some of the must-watch shows coming back and premiering on Netflix this June!

We're halfway through the year, and with it comes more content for you to stream and binge watch after a long day at work. Here are some of the films, series, and reality shows premiering and coming back on Netflix this June: 

1. Sense8: The Series Finale
Launching On: June 8

It feels like only yesterday when Netflix announced the cancellation of Sense8 after just two seasons. Thankfully, Netflix decides to bring back the show for one last episode to give the show a time to wrap up and answer the questions left after all the events of the season finale. Here, the cluster will be coming together with their allies – expected and unexpected – to protect the future of all the sensates. 

The show stars Jamie Clayton, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, Bae Doona, Tuppence Middleton, Tina Desai, and Aml Ameen. 

2. Alex Strangelove
Launching on: June 8

Directed by Craig Johnson, the film follows Alex Truelove, who already has his future planned out ahead of him. When he meets Elliot, a handsome and charming gay kid, Alex begins his journey of sexual identity, exploring more on love, sex, and friendship. It stars Daniel Doheny, Madeline Weinstein, and Antonio Marziale. 

3. Set It Up
Launching On: June 15

Two assistants from New York work together for the biggest project of their careers – to get their two high-powered bosses to fall in love with each other.Set It Up is directed by Claire Scanlon. 

4. Queer Eye
Launching on: June 15
Number of Seasons: 2

The Fab Five returns for the second season in Queer Eye! And once again, they're ready to give the "stylistically-challenged" a transformation, all while sending their message of encouragement and upliftment. The new Fab Five – Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness, and Tan France – will continue to make connections with people of different backgrounds, exploring any topic from food and fashion to self-love and culture. 

5. Marvel's Luke Cage
Launching On:
June 22
Number of Seasons: 2

Now on its season 2, Marvel's Luke Cage follows the titular character who, after becoming famous in Harlem for his reputation, realizes the increase in the need to protect the community, and know who he can and cannot save. The show stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Rosario Dawson, Alfre Woodard, and Theo Rossi, and more. 

6. Us and Them
Launching On:
June 22

Hit Chinese film Us & Them will also be launching on Netflix this month! Directed by award-winning actress Rene Liu, the film is about Lin Jianqing and Fang Xiaoxiao who reunites on a flight home, 10 years after they broke up. The film made Liu the highest grossing female director for Chinese language films with 100 million dollars in just 10 days. It stars Jing Boran and Zhou Dongyu. 

7. Glow
Launching On:
June 29
Number of Seasons: 2

Glow, inspired by the story of the 1980s female wrestling league, centers on an out-of-work actress who decides to be a part of a weekly series on female wrestlers as a way to live her dreams. The show stars Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Sydelle Noel, Britney Young, and Marc Maron. 

8. Nailed It! 
Launching On: June 29
Number of Season: 
2

Just a few months after the first season premiered on Netflix, Nailed It! is already coming back for the second season this June! The show, hosted by Nicole Byer, features home bakers who try to recreate gingerbread men, wedding cakes, and other treats which may or may not end up with an epic fail.
