The hit medieval fantasy series from HBO, Game of Thrones, is reportedly getting an animated series!
The HBO show ended in 2019 and while its finale fetched mixed reactions from fans, the franchise will continue expanding through spinoffs. Besides the confirmed live-action prequel series expected for a 2022 debut, House of the Dragon, and the upcoming Tales of Dunk and Egg series, The Hollywood Reporter has reported that HBO’s parent company WarnerMedia, also has an animated show up its sleeve.
HBO Max has not yet confirmed the existence of the project, and The Hollywood Reporter stated that the series is still in its early development. Since no deals been made, there is still the possibility that it won’t push through.
If it won’t come to fruition though, we still have two shows from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire world, and WarnerMedia would most likely continue expanding the franchise from there.
