Filipinos’ love for Japan’s tokusatsu shows is no secret. After all, many of us grew up watching some of these superhero series such as Ultraman, Shaider, and Kamen Rider to name a few.
We’ve even adapted some of these shows into our own. In 2007, GMA released Zaido, while the sentai anime Voltes V will also get a local live-action iteration soon. Now, another tokusatsu hero rises in the new series Carpioman, starring Jerald Napoles.
Musician and cosplayer Chris Cantada, who is also now known for his Power Rangers content online, released Carpioman‘s trailer on his YouTube Channel. Check it out below:
From directors Miko Livelo and Mihk Vergara, this series suits up our local legendary giant and tasks it to defend the archipelago from kaijus. It will follow the struggling single father Nardo who must step up and use his superpowers to protect his daughter.
More details about the upcoming show, such as its release date, are yet to be revealed.
