8 K-Drama Bromances We All Love

Let’s admit it: we all love a good bromance. Whether they’re childhood friends, enemies, or frenemies, these cute K-Drama bromances never fail to spice the drama up and give us a different kind of kilig we never knew we needed.

Let’s admit it: we all love a good bromance.

Sure, we look forward for the kilig, coupley, nearly perfect main characters in every K-drama we binge watch, but another thing that’s almost becoming a staple in dramas are the adorable bromances that could almost beat the two leads’ level of cuteness. Whether they’re childhood friends, enemies, or frenemies, these men never fail to spice the drama up and give us a different kind of kilig we never knew we needed.

Here are 8 of the cutest bromances we’ve seen so far:

1. Descendants of the Sun’s Yoo Shi Jin (Song Joong Ki) and Seo Dae Young (Jin Goo)

Before Yoo Shi Jin even met the pretty Kang Mo Yeon, he already had this thing going on with Seo Dae Young. They were both part of the Special Forces, and they always have each other’s backs, even if that meant risking their lives to save their friend. They went on rescue missions, operations, and double dates together, were each other’s wingman, and covered for each other’s mistakes to avoid trouble.

2. School 2013’s Go Nam Soon (Lee Jong Suk) and Park Heung Soo (Woo Bin)

School 2013 tackles the struggles of the South Korean youth – bullying, suicide, violence, student-teacher and even student-student relationships. What kept the fans hooked to this drama aside from the story is the love-hate relationship between Go Nam Soon and Park Heung So. The two were leaders of a high school gang, but they drifted apart because of an accident. Meeting again in a new school, Nam Soon tries to apologize and befriend Heung So despite being pushed away repeatedly.

3. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’s Ahn Min Hyuk (Park Hyung Sik) and In Gok Doo (Ji Soo)

In Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Ahn Min Hyuk and In Gok Doo are basically pining and competing for the heart of the titular Do Bong Soon. While they try to outshine one another to make themselves appear to be the “better” choice, there are also occasional cute and funny moments where they drunkenly seduce each other. Oh, and they also make a hella good team in catching a serial killer lurking in their neighborhood, so there’s that!

4. Goblin’s Kim Shin/Goblin (Gong Yoo) and Wang Yeo/Grim Reaper (Lee Dong Wook)

Mortal enemies in their past lives, these two characters are reincarnated to be a Goblin and a Grim Reaper who cross paths and ends up living under the same roof. They may have different – and weird personalities, but that just makes them to be like the titos we wish we could have. They team up to save the Goblin’s bride. They drink beer together. They deal with the hassles of technology because they’re too old for that. They would even buy onion leaks just to be able to walk in a tunnel in the most fashionable way!

5. Reply 1988’s Ssangmundong Boys (Park Bo Gum, Go Kyung Pyo, Ryu Jun Yeol, Lee Dong Hwi)

Set in 1988, Reply 1988 is a story of a group of friends who grew up together in one small neighborhood, so they got to see each other grow up, fall in love, and chase their dreams. What makes their group stand out from the other bromances is how they are like family to each other, and how they’re willing to make sacrifices to make their friends happy.

6. Suspicious Partner’s No Ji Wook (Ji Chang Wook) and Ji Eun Hyuk (Choi Tae Joon)

No Ji Wook and Ji Eun Hyuk are both lawyers whose friendship is broken by a girl who they’re both in love with. When Ji Wook realizes that Eun Hyuk is the only way to get the woman she likes out of trouble, he asks for his help even if that means swallowing his pride. It’s always entertaining to watch them hating and befriending each other,  because we all know they will always be bros.

 7. Dream High’s Song Sam Dong (Kim Soo Hyun) and Hyun Shi Hyuk (Taecyun)

What makes their bromance different is the fact that although they are both into one girl, they tried to not let that affect their friendship. Their relationship would get complicated at times but they would always be there to show their support for their bro when they need it.

8. Boys Over Flowers’ F4 (Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum, and Kim So Eun)

Who would forget the four boys everyone was crushing on during the time it was aired, right? The members of F4 may seem different from each other – what with their different personalities and interests – but there’s always something that bonds them together, even if that something is a first world problem. They know what ticks their friends, and when one finds himself in trouble, the three other boys will come to rescue just like a real brother would do.
