One of the country's most important historical sites, Fort Santiago, has something new to offer its visitors with the opening of its dungeon!
The Intramuros Administration first broke the news on its social media pages along with the photos of its new historical attraction. Check them out below:
The dungeon was originally the Spaniards' storage facility for gunpowder and weapons before it was converted into a prison cell in the 17th century. Today, the dungeon could elicit a certain charm with its architecture, and rouse curiosity especially among those interested in history.
Fortunately, eveyone can now see and experience the dungeon first-hand. It is open from 2PM to 10PM everyday, with an entrance fee to the Fort Santiago price P75 for adults and P50 for students, seniors, and PWDs. To help you out with your DIY tour, there are also downloadable maps of Intramuros and Fort Santiago at the Intramuros website.
