Ben&Ben and Young K’s ‘Leaves’
Ben&Ben released a reimagined version of their song “Leaves” with Day6’s Young K last Friday. The group said that although the original song was released back in 2017, its message that “all will be alright in time” is still more relevant than ever all over the world. Shortly after the release of the song, Ben&Ben took the top spot in the Korean music streaming site Melon, with “Leaves” and Young K taking the second and third spot on the trends.

A Quiet Place Part II
The sequel to the horror film A Quiet Place has finally premiered in US cinemas after the delay caused by the pandemic. The film made an estimated $48 million debut in the US box office, and was met with good reviews. The Exorcist director William Friedkin even called the film “a classic horror film”
A Quiet Place Part IIĀ takes place after the deadly events back in the first movie. This time, the Abbott family must face the terrors of the outside world while fighting for their survival in silence. As they explore the unknown, they discover that the creatures hunting by sound are not the only threats there are around. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe all reprise their roles as Evelyn, Regan, and Marcus Abbott for the film.Ā

Cruella
Another film that premiered with positive reviews in US cinemas last week is Disney’s Cruella, starring Emma Watson and Emma Thompson. It takes place in 70s London and tells the story of one of the “notoriously fashionable — villains,” Cruella De Vil. It follows Estella, a creative young grifter whose dream is to make a name for herself with her design. She catches the eye of chic and haute fashion legend Baroness Von Hellman, with who she ends up in a complicated relationship. Their relationship leads to a series of events that cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become Cruella De Vil.
Cruella is now streaming on Disney+.

Aside from the BTS x McDo merch drop from last week, the BTS Pop-Up Store in SM Megamall has also opened last week to “budol” Filipino ARMY even more! The pop-up store is said to be an “experiential space” where fans can not only purchase official BTS merchandise, but also take photos at the photo areas and installations. The shop also features over 400 items — from stickers and pens to shirts and hoodies — taking reference from some of the group’s most popular songs.
The pop-up store will be open until August 29. Those who are planning to visit need to reserve and secure their slot via this website.
Jo Koy’s Josep
Jo Koy announced last week that he will be starring in the ABC comedy-drama Josep. The show follows the life of a nurse as he navigates through dating, fatherhood, and living in with his Filipino mother who moves in with him. It comes from showrunner Steve Joe, who’ll be working with executive producers Randall Park, Melvin Mar, Michael Golamco, and Jake Kasdan.
