Now on its 2nd virtual edition, the yearly-awaited event is produced in collaboration with Globe Studios, led by Director Quark Henares and Acid House, and co-presented with Coca-Cola. Festival of Lights: Virtual Edition 2021 Part 2
Part two of Festival of Lights: Virtual Edition 2021 is premiering on December 16, 6PM, on Make It Makati’s Facebook page and its other social media accounts, in time with the beginning of Simbang Gabi. The show features a grander animation of the Ayala Triangle Gardens as lights dance around the 360-degree virtual space to a Christmas medley sung by the iconic Mr. Jose Mari Chan.
Director Quark Henares describes this year’s show as a visual piece since it contains a lot more character animations. The show highlights festive Filipino Christmas traditions pieced together to create a story. It also features animations of the nativity, the Filipino family, Jose Mari Chan, and some carolers.
Unlike Part 1, which only featured one song, Part 2 extends to five-holiday tracks, namely “A Wish on Christmas Night,” “Christmas Children,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Sound of Life,” and of course “Christmas in our Hearts.” In choosing the songs for the medley, Chan was guided by the true spirit of Christmas—one that is uplifting despite any kind of circumstance.
“Undoubtedly, the Christmas season is our favorite time of the year. It’s a celebration of the birth of baby Jesus. The season has always been characterized with lights and music to express the joy of that very first Christmas morning.” Chan continues, “I chose songs that would further brighten the mood of [everyone].”
All in all, the yearly tradition is aimed to make Christmas more fun, exciting, and memorable among families not only in Metro Manila but also across the nation and even outside the country through its now-virtual platform.

Share the love with a fun twist – snap a greeting using Ayala Land’s augmented reality Christmas-themed filters. The first is the 360-degree Festival of Lights Part 1 filter, which transports social media users to the virtually decorated Ayala Triangle Gardens. The second filter features an animated Jose Mari Chan music box featuring the iconic “Christmas in our Hearts” anthem. The third is Part 2 of the 360-degree Festival of Lights show, while the fourth features a collaboration with Coca-Cola Studios—which is set to launch before the year-end.
The quest for the best holiday greeting card using augmented reality filters culminates in huge, exciting prizes. One (1) lucky entrant will win the grand prize featuring a 4-day 3-night all-expense-paid trip to El Nido, Palawan for two (2), inclusive of airfare, free food, and RT-PCR testing in partnership with @AirSwift.
