‘Rak of Aegis’ is Going Online! Here’s What We Know About This Theater Event So Far

The musical will be streaming online for two weekends only.

ICYMI, PETA teased a few weeks ago that the beloved Filipino musical Rak of Aegis is going online very soon! Today, the theater organization announced that the production will be available via livestream and video on demand for two weekends only this July 31 and August 1, as well as on August 7 and 8.

The show is part of the Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino 2021 celebration. It will also be part of the #TakePETAbeyondCOVID campaign, which aims to raise funds and help PETA survive amidst the pandemic.

Tickets for the upcoming online event will be available starting today, May 7, via the ticketing platform Ticket2Me. Audience can choose from three viewing options: Livestream, Video On Demand, and Video On Demand Premium.

The Video On Demand Premium option gives fans an exclusive access to Rak With Aegis. This is happening on August 8, 8PM, and will feature the band Aegis, Kim Molina, Gerald Napoles, and other members of the cast.

  • Livestream: P300 (8PM to 11PM, Philippine Standard Time)
  • Video On Demand: P500 (24-hours streaming from 10AM to 10AM the next day)
  • Video On Demand Premium: P1000 (24 hours streaming + access to Rak With Aegis event)

Rak of Aegis tells the story of Aileen, who uploads her videos on YouTube, with dreams of going viral. Although her dream might seem shallow at first, she eventually reveals that the reason she’s doing this is to let the world know that her barangay has been submerged in flood for three months.

The production is written by Liza Magtoto and directed by Maribel Legarda. The streaming cast includes Aicelle Santos, Pepe Herrera, Poppert Bernadas, Isay Alvarez-Seña, Robert Seña, and more.
