If you grew up to a family who’s into the music of the 70s, chances are, you probably would have already heard this song play in the stereo one way or another. Written by Bernie Taupin, Elton John’s Tiny Dancer was released as a song from John’s fourth album, Madman Across the Water, before it came out as a single in 1972. While some people took it literally and said that it's about a lady from Los Angeles — "blue jean baby, a seamstress for the band," some would also say that the song talked about a composite of women who lived in New York.
Forty-six years since it was recorded, the song finally got its own music video. This is all thanks to a competition held by The Cut, where filmmakers got to direct and create their own music videos for an Elton John classic. The videos were judged by none other than Sir Elton John himself, Bernie Taupin, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Melina Matsuokas, and Barry Jenkins.

According to director Max Weiland, he made the video to be about the many different kinds of people living in LA. These people may all have different lives, different stories, but what binds them all together is the fact that they’re all in their cars, driving and listening to the same song – Tiny Dancer.
Aside from Tiny Dancer, two other Elton John classics were given its own music videos – Bennie and the Jets, and Rocket Man.
