It was surprisingly good! Maybe I thought it was going to be really bad that my expectations were lowered to such an extent, but it wasn't cheesy at all like I thought it was going to be. I guess the biggest issue I have with the movie is in the casting choice. The black ranger guy is eye candy and held his own pretty nicely, but the supposed leader, the red ranger guy, is completely forgettable and uncharismatic. The pink ranger also, I thought she didn't really match the kind of pretty and popular girl charisma the original one had, not that the two should really be compared. But I definitely have to give it to Elizabeth Banks. Man, she was the best actor there. It's so out of character to what she normally plays onscreen, and what she did to that character is so good that it was actually surprising, you wouldn't really think she had that in her ordinarily. I did miss the original's calling out of their totem dinosaurs to transform, and I'm wondering how they're gonna do the sequels when they gain better animal spirits. But regardless, the future of the franchise is definitely exciting to watch out for.
