The man behind the films Thor Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit will be directing the next feature film for the Star Wars franchise!
While the fans were greet each other online with “May the Fourth be with you,” Star Wars took the opportunity to announce that Taika Waititi will direct the new film of the franchise. Besides directing, he will also will also co-write the upcoming film’s screenplay with 1917 writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns.
Further details about this new film are yet to be announced, but just the news of Waititi and Wilson-Cairns working together for it already brews excitement among fans. After all, the finale of the spin-off series The Mandalorian was directed by Taika himself and it was well-received by the viewers.
Director Taika Waititi is known for his vibrant visual style and effective humor on films that are not necessarily full-on comedies. Besides this new Star Wars flick, Marvel fans are also looking forward to his next film Thor: Love and Thunder.
