As the country slowly opens up its economy through the GCQ (General Community Quarantine) phase, the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) has an approved resolution allowing barbershops and hair salons to open business and operate on a limited capacity.
Simply put, barber shops and hair salons are allowed to open during GCQ, but will first operate on a 30% operational capacity starting June 7, 2020, then increasing to 50% after two weeks.
Before you head to your neighborhood salon or barber on Sunday, take note that these establishments are strictly open for basic hair cutting services only. This means other typical salon offerings such as hair treatments, facial treatments, hair coloring, and nail services like manicure and pedicure are not allowed during GCQ. And yes, your eyebrow grooming will also have to wait, too.
If you’re one of those who didn’t brave a DIY haircut (a.k.a. quarantrim) and are long overdue for a trip to the salon this GCQ, this list is for you. Here’s a round up of Manila’s Salons and Barber shops opening their doors for your haircut needs starting June 7, Sunday.
