About

Limbaga 77 Cafe Restaurant boasts traditional and heartwarming Filipino cuisine, and reintroduces new ideas to the familiar local fare.

So named after the exact location of its site in the Scout and Tomas Morato area, the cafe and resto opened in November 2014 with its flagship dish “Limbaga 77 Kare-Kare”, a Filipino-embraced Asian “curry” recipe of beef shanks with ox tripe and tail, slow-cooked in beef stock and homemade peanut butter, served with original handcrafted bagoong.

Churning out of the Limbaga 77 kitchen are the house specialties “Baked Lechon”, an inspired impression of the Filipino-Spanish fiesta staple with baked and roasted pork belly, “Four Flavored Wings”, a reimagination of deep-fried chicken with honey, soy, roasted garlic and calamansi juice coating, and media favorite “Poqui-Poqui Rolls” a version of the Ilocano delicacy of grilled eggplant omelette, stuffed in lumpia wrapper.

Reconstructed and designed by MANA Architecture, the American-style 1960’s house seats 80 on the ground floor, with 30 on the al fresco; and accommodates 110 people on the second, with its additional two function rooms and terrace. Limbaga 77 also highlights furniture from internationally-known Filipino designer Leo Saño, and local pride Jaime Memije.

At the helm of the cafe restaurant is Lifeline Diagnostics’ Rex Tiri, with restaurant veterans Fred Casing Jr., Sonny Fortuna, Jake Suazo and Bryce Japson.
