In 1997, a Philippine-based company, Gaufre-Wafels, Inc. was established to manufacture and retail authentic Liege-style waffles for the Filipino market. Fortunately, the company was able to get an exclusive license agreement with Pegi Waffles, Belgium. Our founders were trained to bake Pegi waffles. In order to make sure that we offer Liege waffles acceptable in taste and texture with that of our mother company, importation of these special waffle irons and other essential raw materials are done on a regular basis.
The Pegi Waffles, Philippines commissary is based in the commercial district of San Juan, Metro Manila. Since our company became fully operational, we have been true to our vision to freshly bake authentic European waffles daily, from all natural ingredients, in the same way that we learned to bake them in Belgium. Our Pegi kitchen adheres to strict quality and safety procedures.
