A Japanese-inspired dessert house popular in Hong Kong featuring sweet shaved ice desserts is bringing in the kakigori craze to the metro!
Shari Shari Kakigōri House held a special preview for media this week to let guests taste test some of their famous Japanese shaved iced desserts, or kakigori.
Perfect for summers in Japan (which is practically all year round for us here in the country), kakigori is a shaved ice frozen treat with a pour over of syrup in different kinds of flavors, and comes with an assortment of toppings from red bean to fruits and even tofu.
The brand is soon opening its first outpost in the country, which will be located in Serendra, BGC. Aside from bringing in their famed shaved ice treats, the Manila branch will also be using the same shaved ice machines, as well as a special kind of water that was formulated to be as close as possible to the one used in Hong Kong for their shaved ice to achieve that light and feathery texture.
There will be a total of 12 different kakigori flavors available when it opens to the public, with limited edition/special flavors occasionally offered in the shop. The price range of these desserts (which comes in one size) will be from P270 to P380. Shari Shari Kakigōri House will have one exclusive local flavor not found in the HK shops: Cantaloupe Melon, which has melon syrup, whipped cream, and melon topping.
Shari Shari Kakigōri House is opening June 2019 at the ground level of Serendra in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Follow Shari Shari on Facebook and Instagram (@sharishari_ph) to keep updated on the official store opening date.
