It was in December of 2016 that chef-restaurauter Willy Trullas Moreno's fun and sexy Latin concept 'Tomatito' found its way to Manila. Tomatito ('little tomatoes' in Spanish, and is also the nickname of an iconic Spanish Flamenco guitarist, Jose Fernandez Torres), was originally based in Shanghai under the El Willy Fun F & B Group (headed by Chef Willy) in affiliation with Bistronomia — the same folks that brought to Manila modern Spanish dining experiences in Rambla, Las Flores, and La Lola Churreria.
'El Willy' was recently in the Philippines to introduce the restaurant’s new Spanish Head Chef, Ivan Fernandez. Born and raised in Madrid, Chef Ivan trained and worked as a sous chef in Tomatito Shanghai for over 9 years, and is now in Manila to relive the Tomatito Spanish tradition with his new creations.
Aside from the new mainstays in the restaurant's updated menu, the chef will be featuring limited edition monthly specials for the guests to enjoy. Chef Ivan shares that whenever he does Spanish food, he wants it to be 'food that people can recognize as Spanish, but always with a little bit of something interesting to it.'
Aside from savoring the new flavors of Tomatito with the introduction of the restaurant's new Spanish chef, guests can still enjoy the top sellers and crowd favorites, like the Salmon TNT, Ham Bombs, Fried Baby Squid, and Filete a la Parilla.
Tomatito is located at BGC Corporate Center, 11th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Call 805-7840 for inquiries and reservations, and follow Tomatito Manila on Facebook (/tomatitomanila) and Instagram (@tomatitomanila) for more information.
