An addition to good and healthy food options in Manila, Sante is the newest restaurant under Visum Ventures, the group that brought Koomi, Manila’s favorite drinking yoghurt, to the Philippines. The company has always believed that healthy eating should not be bland and boring. Sante which means health in French and is often used as a toast to wellness, is the premium casual location for their Zig brand, known for their healthy dishes.
Upon entrance, you will notice the chic and cozy space which you can enjoy with their refreshingly healthy food that can take guests from brunch to cocktails. A few of their healthy breakfast options include their Signature Mini Croissant Cereal that has housemade mini croissants, fresh strawberries, edible flower, and made even more unique with the T2 Tea-infused Very Berry milk. If you want something more savory, the Mushroom & Truffle Sourdough is not one to be missed. It has fresh mushroom, drizzled with truffle oil and topped with fresh parsley on freshly toasted sourdough bread that is also made in-house.
An easy favorite of mine is their Tuna and Avocado Tartare. It’s extremely simple with only fresh tuna and avocado drizzled with sesame oil and topped with micro greens. They have more interesting signature dishes like the Pumpkin Risotto that is topped with goat cheese and balsamic glaze; the Chicken Marsala that has juicy chicken breast with cream and Marsala wine and topped with fresh mushrooms; and the Beef Pot Pie, a homey dish that will surely bring you comfort.
To end the meal, choose from their signature desserts. Start with Mike’s Mess which is Mike Hilton’s, Visum Ventures Group’s founder and CEO, take on the Eton Mess. It has fresh cream, strawberries, and passion fruit in a crunch meringue — it’s sweet, fresh, and has different textures you’ll be sure to enjoy. There’s also the Mango Crème Brulee Cheesecake that is delightfully light and airy, it is a T2 Tea Mangoes & Cream tea-infused cheesecake that has macadamia and almond dacquoise crumbs.
