A Bite of Bad Bird at The Grid

Eat Sheet - Sept 24 - Bad Bird

OG fans of Bad Bird first had a taste of their iconic umami fried chicken at Hole in the Wall in Makati, and through the years frequent other outlets as they expanded with outlets in BGC, Ermita, and Ortigas. While only one physical store is currently operational (Megamall), the good news is that Bad Bird is now opening up shop at The Grid! Located at Stall 14, customers can now order their favorite fried chicken dishes for takeout or delivery in-store or through The Grid’s delivery website. If you’re craving a umami fried chicken party at home, Bad Bird’s Umami Fried Chicken Box + Rice Combo (P899) is the perfect set for you and your fried chicken loving folk.

This combo rounds up a Box of 6 Umami Fried Chicken, which you can order half-and-half of the different spice levels (Safe, Spicy, and Chemical). Tasty carbs to complement your fried chicken include a sharing portion of Dirty Rice or Kimchi Bacon Rice. This combo saves you up to 17% off compared to ordering the dishes a la carte. Want to make your fried chicken feast even more bomb? Order the Torched Corn and Cream Cheese (P125) on the side (a personal favorite) and serve your feast with their best-selling Homebrew Iced Tea.

Order your Bad Bird favorites for delivery via thegridfoodmarket.com (free delivery for a minimum order of P2,500), or Pickaroo. For Mandaluyong, Pasig, San Juan, and nearby areas, you can order directly from Bad Bird’s SM Megamall branch via lowbrowshop.com.

Musubi-Rush Releases OmniPork and Brown Rice Musubis

Who else is a sucker for anything Spam? The beloved luncheon meat has been the star of Musubi-Rush for those seeking a savory snackable, and now they’re putting healthier spins on this favorite. Curious to try a completely plant-based musubi and a musubi that features brown rice, best paired with coffee?

For vegans and fans of plant-based alternatives, check out their line of Plant-Based Vegan OmniPork Musubi. Using OmniPork’s juicy Omni Luncheon, they offer three flavors: Original, Spicy, and Kimchi with Vegan Cheese. You may order these by the piece and as a set of 3. The plant-based luncheon has a particularly Asian flavor to it, and its texture is distinct, not quite similar to Spam. This does not mean it doesn’t take like meat — it actually does! — and it reminds me of Asian and Chinese-style luncheon meats.

Musubi-Rush’s latest healthy offering is in partnership with Doña Maria Premium Rice, and puts Miponica brown rice in the spotlight! The Hickory Smoked Musubi (P599) really is perfect for breakfast, the rice more hefty and filling, that is why they include a piece of drip coffee along with 6 pieces of musubi in the box. A breakfast musubi naturally works, as we’re all familiar with and fond of Spam with rice in the morning. Paired with a hot cup of coffee, this snackable turns into a nostalgic meal to jumpstart your day.
