Missing Thailand? Made in Bangkok Brings Your Favorite Thai Eats Straight To Your Home

Made in Bangkok combines traditional Thai cooking and modern Asian cooking techniques by Chef Fran Lim.

Bangkok holds a special place in my heart as it is one of the first cities I’ve visited abroad. Its rich culture, vibrant nightlife, and flavorful food options are the main reasons why it has become one of the cities I’d easily go back to in a heartbeat. However, leisure travel isn’t really an option now so the next best thing is to really travel through our tastebuds.

From the makers of Ginza Gyu and Mama Cha comes The Raspberry Kitchen Group’s newest food concept: Made in Bangkok. Their newest brand combines traditional Thai cooking and modern Asian cooking techniques by seasoned Chef Francis “Fran” Lim. “My love for Asian cuisine, especially Thai food, has evolved into creating concepts for those who want to experience a different side from whatā€™s being served to us here in Manila,” shares Chef Fran Lim.

It is a delivery-only food concept with twelve tastemakers making up their menu and is released over a certain period. They’ve launched with their first three dishes to give its customers a glimpse of what’s to come. A standout for me is the Tom Yum Puff Noodles (P850) that’s definitely not your usual Thai soup. Pour over the fragrant Tom Yum sauce over the puffed crispy noodles and listen to it crackle. Believe me when I say the Tom Yum sauce is a treat in itself. Other than the whole jumbo prawns, the sauce has generous servings of mushrooms and fish cakes.

The second dish that caught my heart is the Thai Crispy Chicken Curry (P490). It is a serving of boneless fried chicken doused in a housemade curry sauce that has the right amount of heat to it. The chicken sits on top of fragrant coconut rice with a serving of crispy Shimeji mushroom salad on the side. Last but not least, the MBKK Wagyu Thai Steak BoxĀ (P890): pan-seared Australian wagyu topped over Thai steak rice (that’s great on its own by the way). Make sure to dust some green curry salt and drizzle with their tamarind steak sauce! The rice dishes are also available in trays at P960 and P1,760, respectively.

They’ve also released quirky drinks like Mango Sticky Rice (P165) which has fresh and think mango juice with a bottom layer of sticky rice and coconut cream. It is indeed like the popular Thai dessert in drink form. There’s also Tropic Thunder (P165) which is a combination of mango, passionfruit, and coconut. It’s sweet, light, and refreshing.
