Slay the Buffet: Your Eat-All-You-Can Guide to S Kitchen, Sheraton Manila

Showing up to a buffet feast without a plan of attack is a terrible idea. Here's your eat-all-you-can guide (including what you must not miss!) when you indulge in Sheraton Manila's S Kitchen.

Located right across the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, Sheraton Manila Hotel is your gateway to experience authentic Filipino hospitality. The hotel takes pride in bringing the iconic Sheraton brand to life in the Philippines through its facilities and authentic Filipino hospitality.

As we all know, Filipinos love food and Sheraton Manila Hotel being an advocate for Filipino hospitality has a stunning spread where you can taste global and local flavors at S Kitchen where they use the finest local produce they can find and traditional techniques that would remind you of home.

Showing up to a buffet feast without a plan of attack is a terrible idea. Here's your eat-all-you-can guide, including what you must not miss, when you indulge in Sheraton Manila's S Kitchen!

Start Strong with these Appetizers:

If there's one thing we learned from eating at buffet restaurants, it's getting our money's worth without hating ourselves for eating too much. Carefully choose from their beautiful bread selection and work your way to their cold selection – salad, cold cuts and cheese. This section is refreshing and will you up lightly to give you more space to try more dishes.

Must Not Miss:

What's a buffet without a carving station? Their carving section serves a mean melt-in-your-mouth roast beef. You can ask them to grill it or add it in any of the existing dishes they have! If you prefer it on its own, choose from the available sauces to add more flavor – I prefer the peppercorn gravy and the mustard sauce.

Spread Highlight:

Seafood lovers, you're also in for a treat. It may not be as big as other buffet restaurants but S Kitchen has just the right amount of seafood selection where you can find fresh mussels and crustaceans. You can have your prawns and crabs cooked as you like: cheesy baked mussels or douse everything with garlic butter sauce.

Other than the usual Chinese dishes, Sheraton highlights Filipino culture even more with a bigger section just for Filipino cuisine. There's a roasting section for chicken and pork (for dinner) complete with all the sawsawan (dips) – different kinds of vinegar, soy sauce with lemon and more – that Filipinos like. Classic dishes like Kare-Kare, Bicol Express, Bistek are just a few you can find here.

Chef/Staff Pick:

This may be a chef or staff pick, but this is definitely my pick as well. Sure, most buffets offer a pasta station but you can't leave S Kitchen without trying their Bicol Express Pasta. They have a creamy coconut-based sauce and toss in some fresh seafood before serving.

Always Leave Room for Dessert:

Aside from the Filipino station, another huge section in S Kitchen is their dessert station… and who doesn't love some good sweets to end such a good meal? Make sure you don't miss out on the classic Filipino desserts, their selection of beautiful and delectable cakes and housemade gelato with flavors like Ube, Mango, Pandan, Cookie Dough and Matcha to choose from.

If you want to skip on the gelato, you can opt for the hand-rolled ice cream. They were serving their hazelnut flavor on our visit, which had a smooth texture and reminded us of the filling of the famous chocolate Kinder Bueno. It is definitely a treat for kids and kids at heart!
