We’ve got good news for all Superhero lovers! The very first DC Super Heroes Cafe in the country is now open in the 4th floor of SM Megamall's Mega Fashion Hall.
The cafe is like comics come to life, complete with DC designs, collectibles, and even snacks from iconic DC fictional establishments such as Big Belly Burger and Jitters. It’s perfect to get to know more about your favorite DC characters and live the experience with them.
Besides getting to know them, you also get to taste them! DC Superhero Cafe serves superhero-inspired dishes and drinks that’s sure to make your mouth water.
At the top of the list is the Seafood Curry, and guess what, it’s after Arthur Curry! This smoked salmon and green curry dish is inspired by Aquaman with its ingredients fresh from the water. The curry has a savory taste and a tinge of sweetness, paired with perfectly-cooked salmon, and topped with an edible flower. Another favorite is the Lamb Skewers (P580) served with watermelon and tzatziki sauce. This one is inspired by Captain Boomerang so you’ll surely come back for this!
Other items to look out for on the menu are the Zucchini Fries inspired by Joker, the Three-cheese Tortellini pasta shaped like Green Lantern’s power ring, and the Pepperoni Pizza rooted in Barry Allen’s (a.k.a. The Flash) love for New York city.
What’s a cafe without the drinks? Inspired by Billy Batson and the power of Shazam, the Tropical Cream Cheese Smoothie (P190) is a concoction of lychee, passion fruit, milk, and cheddar cheese, topped with whipped cream for a tangy and sweet flavor.
The Berry Cheesecake Smoothie (P190) is an Amazonian smoothie made after Wonder Woman, with a mix of strawberries, guavas, and hibiscus, topped with mango jello. It really works wonders on your taste buds! While from the brooding enigma of Gotham city, the Deep Cacao Milk Chocolate Smoothie (P190) is dark and sweet with a mix of chocolate and fresh cacao. The cafe's Double Nut White Choco Frappe (P190), brewed with chocolate, hazelnut, and espresso is truly super like Superman, and the Pistachio Grassy Frappe (P190) channels the powers of Green Lantern with a blend of special pistachio sauce, pandan milk, and espresso.
As for the desserts which look very ‘Instagrammable,’ we have the Mango Panna Cotta (P170) that tastes rich and creamy with vanilla milk pudding, topped with mangoes and syrup, the Special Churros with Chocolate Sauce (P180) as a reference to Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth, and the Strawberry Trifle (P240) as alluring as Poison Ivy’s traps with layers of cake, strawberry jam, chocolate soil, a macaroon, and sour vines.
Edric Ivan Chua, the cafe owner, says that DC Cafe is for the family. He explains, “the goal is to bring families together, and the community of fans. Even if you’re not fan, you can still enjoy the good food and get to know DC superheroes.” As a partner of Warner Bros Movies and Turner TV, DC comics and collectibles can actually be viewed and purchased in the cafe. The team behind the cafe also plans to have interactive and dynamic engagement with customers through showing movies and series, updating the menu, and holding art events.
