Whether you're seeking a cold refreshing dessert to cool you down or a bowl of hot noodle soup to warm the belly, Sarsa's new dishes reinvent comfort food that satisfy one's craving for homey Filipino flavors.
Chef JP Anglo takes two of his favorite childhood merienda staples — the Ilonggo batchoy and the classic halo-halo — and puts his signature modern twist, and now all six dishes are available across all Sarsa branches.
While Sarsa already has the classic take on batchoy on their menu, the hearty noodle soup abundant with meat and innards now gets three new variants. It's not the first time the chef has presented a modern rendition of batchoy — he previously presented a 'super batchoy' at Madrid Fusion Manila. He's obviously fond of this hangover cure in a bowl, and now customers can try Batchoy Ramen (P285), Seafood-gata Batchoy (P285), and Spicy Batchoy (P285).
On the other end of the merienda spectrum, we move from hot dishes to ice-cold treats. Chef JP mixes it up with his three halo-halo desserts at Sarsa, living up to the sweet delicacy's name that mixing a little of everything is delicious in every spoonful. For a Negrense twist to the classic, try the Sarsa Halo-Halo (P145) crowned with a homemade piaya chip (and also topped with crushed piaya for added texture), Mango Vanilla con Hielo (P165) that lets you enjoy our national fruit in three different textures, and an a la mode and shaved ice version of buco pandan salad with their Buko Pandan con Hielo (P145).
These six hot and cold dishes are now available at all Sarsá branches: SM Megamall, Legazpi Village Makati, The Forum BGC, SM Mall of Asia, Rockwell Makati, and UP Town Center QC. Like Sarsa in Facebook (/sarsakitchen) and follow on Instagram (@sarsakitchen). #SarsaHotAndCold
